Ryder leads the ELEMENT ZERO_SIX design team in Glasgow, ensuring best practice is followed, and best products and service are delivered to our Clients.
He is driven by four core principles:
Before co-founding ELEMENT ZERO_SIX, he learnt his trade under the tutorship of Timothy Allan, at the pioneering sustainable product design consultancy Locus Research, in New Zealand (www.locusresearch.com). There his work ranged from shower systems to healthcare products, furniture to surf equipment (www.bestawards.co.nz).
Prior to University, he completed a Short Service Limited Commission with 29 Commando Royal Artillery, winning his green beret. Officer training at Sandhurst, surviving The All Arms Commando Course and working as a white water raft guide and ski escort, have put Ryder in testing leadership environments.
An RSA fellow, and recent tutor at Strathclyde University he’s lectured the circuit from Scientists at Medical Polymers Conferences, Businesses on the Envirowise Roadshow to students at Secondary School.
Away from work, Ryder’s passionate about the outdoors, relishing the challenge of venturing into the unknown. His sports locker is stocked with all the gear for mountain biking, kayaking and back country ski / snowboarding expeditions.
